Raleigh, NC

Architectural designer for Raleigh homes.

McGill & Co. Designs is a residential architectural design studio based inside the Beltline. We draw custom homes, whole-home renovations, and outdoor living projects for Raleigh neighborhoods where detailing matters.

Designed for Raleigh

Raleigh rewards design that reads the neighborhood. A Five Points addition needs a different porch than a Hayes Barton remodel. A North Hills new build answers to different setbacks than an Oakwood infill lot. We spend the time up front to understand what the block already does well, then draw something that belongs.

Our core work is custom single-family homes, whole-home renovations and additions, and outdoor living (screened porches, pool houses, cabanas, covered cooking areas). The common thread is architectural detailing. Window proportion, trim profile, brick coursing, roof pitch, column base. The small moves that make a house feel like it was thought about.

We work inside the city permit path, not around it. Site plans meet Raleigh Development Services submittal formatting. Zoning setbacks, impervious surface, tree conservation, and HOA architectural review are handled as design constraints, not afterthoughts. When a project needs a licensed structural or civil engineer, we bring partner stamps in and coordinate them against the drawings.

Typical Raleigh projects sit between a modest inside-the-Beltline addition and a six-figure new-build design fee. Every scope is priced fixed before we start.

Photoreal 3D walkthroughs tied to the construction drawings. What you approve is what gets built.
